My son is a carpenter, I flew him up to me specifically to assemble and install my 3 pantry cupboards and the small counter cabinet (this review) to hold my microwave, as I live in the ‘Mother-in-Law’ apt under my daughters home. I’ll be living here until I kick the bucket, so I want my living area to be exactly lovely, Convenient, and to have STORAGE in my kitchen instead of the UGLY baker racks. I purchased this counter cabinet to hold my microwave, plastic containers & a nice size junk drawer (Drawer separators from Walmart) as you can see the cabinet itself is a little off alignment, it was very time consuming to assemble even for my Carpenter son, the right door is like a 1/32” not lined up correctly with the original holes for assembling, so the bottom of the top drawer is hitting the top of the right door, plus only 2 of the door handles instead of 3 grrrr drove all around town trying to match the handles which was unsuccessful. I’ll have to drive 25 miles to Home Depot to see if they can match - if not I guess I’ll have to buy 3 new handles. I did not have my son put on the cabinet feet so cabinet is even with my counters, to me that’s a big plus. I tried my best to match my kitchen cabinets and this is Pretty close so I’m super pleased about that. My son said he could probably tweak the cabinet some what so it does not rub and will be flush like it should be & the drawer will close softly without rubbing the cabinet door.My kitchen is small & had very little cabinet storage, (dishes, few pots & pans) now I have storage and have room.Besides the goof on the pre drilled holes, I think it’ll be fine & I’ll be happy when my son tweaks the cabinet. I put drawer separators and temporarily put my utensils in there but they’re going to be mounted on my pantry closet. So drawer will be a organized junk drawer. LolI’m so pleased that the cabinet itself is a acceptable match and when all done that it’s same height as the original counter without the feet.I think it’s a great sturdy addition to my kitchen - I’m happyThe cabinets look great the the price was low compared to similar products. This is a 2 person job unless you are super strong, great with tools and can follow instructions easily. What we liked:-size is perfect and can fit alot-Looks really nice-Somewhat sturdy-Great priceWhat we did not like:-Some pieces were scratched up - was mostly the inside so not too bad-instructions are all over the place and can be confusing- the back of this item is just cardboard and was a nightmare to installOverall an ok product considering the priceIf you order gray, just know that it won't be completely gray. It's gray on the inside/sides but the doors are white. We decided to buy new hardware and leave the middle cabinet door off to expose the gray color. It's a nice contrast and goes well with our home color scheme. It's kind of a pain to put together, especially the backing of the cabinet. Some pieces were slightly damaged upon arrival but not enough to return.Put this in my kitchen for extra storage, easy to assemble and love that the door closes on its own slowly. Just make sure the cabinet is level for it to workWe found this cabinet easy to assemble and sturdy. We did anchor to the wall. Bought some baskets to put on the shelves to contain my smaller gardening tools and gloves. Looks great by the back door & the white blends in with the wood work so it looks practically built inLet me preface this review by stating that I am familiar with assembling furniture and DIY projects in general. I have laid tile, rewired broken electronics, and installed garbage disposals by myself. This is the extent of my “handiness,” though I am by no means a pro.PROS: this looks lovely so far, and each cabinet I bought from this company is sturdy ENOUGH for two budget-conscious post grads. I was very pleased with the price.CONS: pieces were warped and the assembly was therefore not smooth, even with a drill. There were pieces of hardware included that were not listed in the included hardware (?!).My BIGGEST COMPLAINT is that on every single cabinet I ordered (three separate units — five sets of doors total), the flimsy backing would not slide into place. None of the grooves lined up!The backing was basically stiff cardstock with a glossy white surface. I know that this feature is common for cheap furniture. However, other assembly kits always provided little tacks or tiny nails that you could use to secure the cardstock across the back of the assembled product. That is not the case with these cabinets. Because you need to slide the backing into pre cut grooves, the warped wood prevents everything from lining up easily.I thought I was going to have to just leave it out altogether, but my handyman finally came over and jammed it into place with a pry-bar!POST INSTALLATION EDIT: As I hinted above, I ended up needing some professional assistance at the very end, if not only because I could not lift the assembled cabinets by myself. My handyman was able to slide in the backing using a crow-bar looking tool to jam the card stock in place. **He says the paper — though it looks flimsy — is vital in helping a cheap setup like this hold its shape.**ALSO, he said that the screws that came with the kit to fix the cabinet mounts into the wall are NOT AT ALL sturdy enough for the way people tend to fill up kitchen cabinets (with heavy jars and cans of food). He ended up bringing over some huge 6 or 7 inch DECK SCREWS and fixing the mounting pieces into the wall studs with those. Those do not come with this kit! The kit comes with a few measly screws, so look out!ONE YEAR LATER EDIT: I love these cabinets, and they have held up extremely well!! They are so gorgeous and easy to clean. If you buy the deck screws to fix them into the wall studs, you will love these too.Love this. Great deal for the priceTook deceptively long to assemble. Get what you pay for, very cheap construction. The back is paper thin composite material, like cardboard - because you have to nail it, this cabinet cannot be disassembled nicely. Even after following the instructions perfectly, the top drawer still had a significant gap. Was obviously a pain to return, as it's quite large/heavy. Thankfully Amazon gave me a full return though !Very easy to assemble, one part was unusable, contacted System Build and a new part was delivered in 3 days. I would definitely purchase another piece from this manufacturer again, the only thing I missed was that it is not on wheels so if you need to move it can b e a little difficult. It’s not delivery on time is not good qualityWell made, and the price is right.Great item for the price. The top drawer does stick a bit, but it is not a big problem for me. Other than that, it is a great buy.
